Starbucks Demographics Part 3: Let’s Break It Down By Age (3–8)
Apple Juice, Milk, Vanilla Crème, Hot Chocolate, Caramel Apple Spice
Disclaimer: During my time at Starbucks, I began to notice that people of the same age, financial/social status or ethnicity tended to order very similar drinks. My experience was with ONLY ONE Starbucks coffee house in Toronto, and these series of articles may be somewhat BIASED. Also, I no longer work there.
When you come to Starbucks with your parents and you are 3–5 years old, you aren’t asked what you want to get, and if you are, then you still ask for children’s drinks, like apple juice, cold or warm milk or hot chocolate. And for a good reason — what parent would want to give their child caffeinated drinks like lattes or teas? The alternatives seem perfect.
None of these drinks contain caffeine, which makes the parents happy and keeps the kids satisfied.
All of the listed drinks come with a “kid’s temperature” option, which means that the body of the drink (milk or apple juice) heats up to only 112°C; it suits children better than the usual 150°C.
