Day 6: 5 ways to win my heart

Men complain that women are mysterious creatures.

1. Talk to me. Entertain me with stories from your life. Tell me about your weird college roommate, or how you got kicked out of kayaking class, or how you stabbed yourself with a pen trying to pet a stray dog. Teach me something I don’t know about this crazy beautiful world! Why don’t fireflies chirp like crickets? When was the colour green given it’s name? I love stories!
2. Be genuine. Shower me with sweet talk, but mean what you say. Stay true to your words, and if you promise something — deliver it.
3. Respect me. Respect my time, and respect my opinions. Ask if you’re curious about why I think the way I do, and respect my answer; don’t try to undermine it. Show me that you care about my feelings, and show me that you care about my well-being.
4. Surprise me. Even the smallest act of consideration goes a long way. If you manage to surprise me — be it with a CD of my favourite songs/artists, or a book I’ve been wanting to buy, or even with something small you know I’d appreciate — I’ll remember that.
5. Think of something by yourself. I love creativity, so if you think you can win my heart with something — try it.
